The Niagara Falls Music and Art Festival is pleased to announce the four individuals that will serve as judges on our Awards Panel. Today we introduce:
Joy Meness is currently an instructor at Penn State University where she is working on her PhD in education. She navigates the intersection of Indigeneity and the mainstream, focusing on the reconceptualization of the printed word and the images which accompany it. In her own work she seeks to capture that which has appeared elusive by investigating the multiverse where that which is unseen becomes prismatic and multifaceted in many realms. Having worked with many artists, both Native and not, she is influenced by the connection two worlds have when they collide. It is this connection she seeks to find through natural and found materials as she explores her Indigenous heritage.
